What are some good plants for a lake malawi cichlid tank?

The tank is 55 gallons so I'd like them to be able to grow short or tall. There is only the one bulb over the tank, 18 Watt I think. I'd also prefer them to be broadleaved, since that will help the plants to not get eaten.
