About near light speed travel...?

So here is my thinking, lets say we have a hypothetical ship, with thousands upon thousands of engines equipped to it. Lets this theoretical ship was fired up and reached its max velocity before shutting off. If we ignore all of the practicality flaws in this plan, and if there were enough engines, could this ship approach the speed of light?
